Anand Srivastava
Composer; the elder half of Anand-Milind
Anand and his brother Milind are the sons of the veteran composer Chitragupta, and as Anand-Milind they were among the busiest composers of 1988 to 1995. They shot to fame with Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak (1988), the film that launched Aamir Khan and revived the romantic musical, and followed it with Dil (1990) and Beta (1992).
Maha-Sangram (1990) came to them after the original composers, Laxmikant-Pyarelal, were replaced. Its 'Dhak Dhak Dil Dhadke' was sung by Alisha Chinai, with a few lines by the actor Aditya Pancholi himself. Two years later the same duo wrote 'Dhak Dhak Karne Laga' for Beta, and Madhuri Dixit, who stars in Maha-Sangram, became the 'dhak dhak girl' of the nation. The two songs are otherwise unrelated.
