Anandji

1933–

Anandji Virji Shah is the surviving half of Kalyanji-Anandji, the partnership he formed with his elder brother. Their run through the 1970s gave Amitabh Bachchan most of his best-known songs.

After Kalyanji's death in 2000 he worked mainly on stage shows and on training young singers. Don's *Khaike Paan Banaraswala* was added to the film late, when it was judged too dry, and became the thing people remember.
