Chandramohan
Actor; the eyes of 1930s Hindi cinema (1906-1949)
Chandramohan was known above all for his eyes - pale, enormous, and used by every director who had him. He is the Emperor Jehangir in Pukar (1939) and Porus in Sikandar (1941), which are the two performances usually named, and the Judge in this one. He worked constantly through the 1930s and 40s and died in 1949, at forty-three, reportedly in poverty - a fall steep enough that it is mentioned in almost every account of him.
