Fali Mistry
1919–1979
Fali Mistry photographed around forty Hindi films from the 1940s to the 1970s - Guide, Jewel Thief, Love in Tokyo, Joshila - and was one of the cinematographers who made the colour films of the 1960s look like something other than stage lighting.
His brother Jal Mistry was also a cinematographer, and the two of them between them shot a sizeable share of the period's major films. Very little is recorded about either beyond their credits.
