Indivar

1924–1999

Shyamalal Babu Rai wrote under the name Indivar for fifty years and is credited on something over three hundred films. He wrote plainly, often about loss, and worked with almost every composer of the period.

He shares Don's lyrics with Anjaan. His best-known songs - Chandi Ki Deewar, Koi Jab Tumhara Hriday Tod De - are the kind that outlive the films they were written for.
