Jagdish Raj
1928–2013
Jagdish Raj holds a distinction no other actor is likely to take from him: he played a police inspector in something like a hundred and forty films, which is recorded as a world record for typecasting in a single profession. He arrived in Bombay from Sargodha after Partition.
He is in Deewaar in that same uniform. He worked from the early 1950s to the 1990s, and his daughter Anita Raj became a leading actress in the 1980s.
