Kader Khan
1930–2018
Kader Khan taught civil engineering in Bombay and wrote plays in his spare time until Dilip Kumar saw one. He became the most prolific dialogue writer in Hindi cinema - around two hundred and fifty films - while also acting in several hundred.
He wrote the dialogue for Amar Akbar Anthony and Muqaddar Ka Sikandar and appears in both. Most of the lines people quote from the Bachchan films of the late 1970s are his, which makes him one of the least visible authors of a very loud decade.
