The aunt. Over roughly five decades Leela Mishra played the older female relative so often that the word mausi attached itself to her, and in Sholay she is actually called it.

The scene she is remembered for is the one where Jai talks her out of marrying Basanti to Veeru by praising him - a piece of comic writing that only works because she plays it completely straight, listening and getting steadily more alarmed.
