A specialist in villains and henchmen through the 1970s, in an era when Hindi cinema needed a great many of them. Johny Mera Naam (1970) was his breakout; Dharmatma (1975), Zameer (1975) and Trishul (1978) followed. In Sharmilee he plays Tiger.

He belonged to the generation of character villains the 1970s needed in quantity - the henchman, the smuggler's lieutenant, the man in the second car - and he worked constantly through the decade because he was reliable in exactly that register. Tiger in Sharmilee is the part that shows what he was for: menace arriving in a film that until then had been a romance.
