Nasir Hussain

1931–2002

Nasir Hussain wrote and directed the musical romance in its Hindi form and then made it for forty years - Tumsa Nahin Dekha, Teesri Manzil, Caravan, Yaadon Ki Baaraat, Hum Kisise Kum Naheen.

Yaadon Ki Baaraat is usually called the first masala film, and most of what followed in the 1970s is in debt to it. His son Mansoor Khan directed Qayamat Se Qayamat Tak, and his nephew Aamir Khan starred in it.
