Neetu Singh

1958–

Neetu Singh started as a child actress at six and was a leading lady by sixteen, which gave her a decade of stardom finished before she was twenty-five. She was best known opposite Rishi Kapoor, with whom she made a dozen films and whom she married in 1980, retiring almost immediately.

Deewaar came in the middle of that run, in a smaller part than she usually took. She returned to the screen in 2009, three decades later, and has worked intermittently since - including Jug Jugg Jeeyo in 2022, her first film after Rishi Kapoor's death.
