Priya Rajvansh

1937–2000

Priya Rajvansh trained at RADA in London and appeared almost exclusively in Chetan Anand's films - Haqeeqat, Heer Raanjha, Hanste Zakhm, Hindustan Ki Kasam, Kudrat. She was his partner for three decades and lived with him until his death.

She was murdered in his Bombay house in 2000, two years after he died; his sons and two servants were convicted. It is one of the Hindi film industry's genuinely ugly stories.
