Saira Banu

1944–

Saira Banu was sixteen when Junglee made her a star opposite Shammi Kapoor, and she worked through the 1960s and 1970s in Shagird, Padosan, Purab Aur Paschim and Zameer.

She married Dilip Kumar in 1966, when she was twenty-two and he was forty-four, and cared for him until his death in 2021. Her mother Naseem Banu had been a leading actress of the 1930s and 1940s, which makes three generations of the family in front of a camera.
