Sharmila Tagore

1944–

Sharmila Tagore was cast by Satyajit Ray at thirteen in Apur Sansar and worked for him repeatedly - Devi, Nayak, Aranyer Din Ratri - while building a parallel career in Hindi films that was nothing like it.

She is the lead in Sharmilee, which this catalogue also holds, and in Chupke Chupke opposite Dharmendra. She chaired the Central Board of Film Certification from 2004 to 2011, which put her in charge of the certificates this site records.
