Viju Khote
1945–2019
Viju Khote played small parts in around four hundred films and is remembered for one line. As Kaalia in Sholay he says *sardar, maine aapka namak khaya hai* and is shot for it, and the name stuck to him for the rest of his life.
He worked in Marathi and Hindi, in film and television, and was the brother of the actress Shubha Khote - who is also in Pukar, on this site.
