Description
Radio Hit launched in 2010 on 104.7 FM and belongs to Cadena Musical, the long-established Costa Rican broadcaster whose studios sit at Plaza Musical on the old road from Curridabat towards Tres Ríos, east of San José. Spanish-speaking hosts wrap a playlist of mostly English-language music, 1990s hits alongside current pop, rock, alternative and electronica, and the station threads in talk about culture, art, lifestyle and current events aimed squarely at younger adult listeners. Its own tagline is "ponemos lo que nos gusta", we play what we like, and it has built a large following on social media on the strength of that. One caution for listeners: the station's website at 1047hit.com no longer resolves, and Cadena Musical declined to bid in Costa Rica's 2025 radio frequency auction, choosing instead to go to the administrative courts to assert its renewal rights, so its place on the dial is unsettled.
