Ålands Radio is the public radio service of the Åland Islands, the Swedish-speaking autonomous region of Finland, run by Ålands Radio och TV Ab from Mariehamn. It goes out in Swedish on 91.3 MHz and online, and the spine of the schedule is Åland's own journalism: the Ålandsnytt news bulletins, island sport, culture and current affairs. Alongside the live output it has built up a substantial podcast catalogue, from the summer interview series Sommarprat to the shipping programme Sjöfartspodden, which matters in a place where the merchant fleet is a big part of the economy. Music features, but this is a full-service regional broadcaster and for many islanders it is the main daily source of Åland news.
