Description
Cherry FM is one of the largest radio networks in Myanmar, licensed to broadcast since August 2009 and set up originally to speak for Shan State and Kayah State. It has grown a long way past that brief: twelve regions and states now carry it on FM, which by the station's own reckoning is two thirds of the country and more than forty-two million people within reach. The frequency list reads like a tour of Myanmar, from 89.8 in Shan State and 88.0 at Naung Cho down to 89.3 in Yangon, 92.2 across Mandalay and Sagaing, and 88.3 in Mon and Kayin. Everything goes out in Burmese, a mix of music and talk, and the station says it studies what its listeners want and tries to put good songs and programmes out every day. The line it hangs over everything it posts is "We Promise The Difference".

Worth knowing
Licensed since August 2009 and carried on FM across twelve regions of Myanmar, which makes it one of the country's larger private networks, and it still bills itself on a single line: "We Promise The Difference".

If you think something here is wrong

Tell us which fact and what you found instead. Everything above names its source and its date, so a disagreement can be settled by looking rather than argued. Where another site disagrees with us, it is usually because it is repeating a radio directory, and occasionally because we got it wrong. We would like to know which.

Read from the station's own material; this page is generated from the catalogue as it stands now, so it changes when the research does. Research current as at 2026.
