Description
dr_dick's dub shack has been putting dub out of Bermuda since 1999, which makes it older than most of the platforms it now streams on. Its own description is "all species of dub, downtempo and bass music, from the classic early analogue dub reggae of the 60s and 70s, through to 80s and 90s digidub, on to year 3000 steppas and future bass music", and the playout backs that up: one recent stretch ran Cedric IM Brooks & The Light of Saba into Mighty Two, then Mungo's Hi Fi, Skream, International Observer and Time Cow. It runs around the clock with nobody talking over it, and the only voice you hear is a recurring ident credited to "rob" and logged as "dub shack intermission". The strapline is "version, dub, remixes, 10 inches, 12 inches and more", and it asks for money with the line "help us stay ad free". The feed is a 192kbps stream and it is still on air today, even though the website that sat alongside it for twenty-six years has gone.
