Description
ATodaMecha broadcasts from Santa Cruz del Norte, a small town on Cuba's north coast in Mayabeque province, and it started up in 2020 in the middle of the COVID pandemic. It does not present itself as merely a radio station: its own words are un movimiento cultural, a cultural movement built on what it calls periodismo inteligente. In practice that means Cuban and international underground rock and metal around the clock, wrapped in interviews, reviews and a well stocked podcast shelf. The interview list wanders a long way from the island, with episodes on Kadosh from Colombia, Mephisto and Banda Infurnio from Cuba and Alexis Salgado from the United States. Alongside the audio it publishes an underground magazine, the Revista Virtual Underground «ATodaMecha News», and its Hall of Fame «Cubans Rock & Metal» run is the thing it puts front and centre.
