Description
Europe 1 is a long-running French commercial station given over to news and talk. Founded in 1955, it made its name with a looser, more conversational style than the scripted announcers of the day, favouring eyewitness reporting, and it earned the nickname "barricade radio" for its coverage of the May 1968 crisis. It broadcasts from Paris and carries presenters including Stephane Bern, Nicolas Canteloup and Sonia Mabrouk.
