Description
FM1 is a private Faroese station broadcasting round the clock from Tórshavn, and everything on it, from the news bulletins to the presenter chat, is in Faroese. The mix is news, politics and culture built around unusually heavy sport coverage, with Faroese football commentary a signature of the station, wrapped in mainstream music between the talk. Alongside the main channel it runs a second stream called VoxPop, and its programme archive and live player sit on fm1.fo. For a broadcaster serving a population of around fifty thousand, the local focus is the whole point, and there is little here that a listener would find anywhere else.
