How we checked GBC Radio Gibraltar
Everything published about this station was read from the station's own website or its own stream, and every fact below names the page it came from and the year it was read. Nothing needed correcting. We also found 2 things we could have published and decided not to.

Description
Radio Gibraltar is the radio arm of the government-owned Gibraltar Broadcasting Corporation and has been on air since 1958, which makes it the Rock's oldest broadcaster. The weekday schedule is built around locally made speech, led by the news programme Focus in morning, lunchtime and evening editions, then presenter-led music and magazine shows from Lucinda Snape and Ben Lynch. Output moves between English and Spanish and drifts into Llanito, the Gibraltarian vernacular that blends the two, and weekend strands such as Made in Gibraltar and Yesterday When I Was Young dig into local music and older records. It runs 24 hours a day, with the medium-wave service relaying the BBC World Service overnight.

Contact route
the corporation's Contact page is laid out as service-specific rows and two of them are this service's: Radio Gibraltar (Office) with its own telephone and mailbox, and Radio Gibraltar (Live Studio) with a studio telephone, a WhatsApp number on that same line and a studio mailbox; a further row gives Radio Gibraltar Plus's studio line; the site also carries a Complaints page and a stated right-of-reply route to the editor; Radio Gibraltar has its own Facebook, X and Instagram accounts linked from the same pages

What we corrected
Nothing. This station's entry matched what its own site says, which is worth recording: a clean check is a result, not an absence of one.
What we found and did not publish
Material that would have made this page fuller, and was refused. A page with five named presenters looks better than a page with none even when the five are a website theme's demonstration content, and the difference is invisible to a reader. So it is recorded here instead.
| What we could have said | Why we did not |
|---|---|
| the Website design by credit in the footer | name only, no contact details of its own
source |
| the corporation reception line and the newsroom, television and sales mailboxes on the same page | those are GBC's other services and head office, not the radio service

If you think something here is wrong
Tell us which fact and what you found instead. Everything above names its source and its date, so a disagreement can be settled by looking rather than argued. Where another site disagrees with us, it is usually because it is repeating a radio directory, and occasionally because we got it wrong. We would like to know which.
Read from the station's own material; this page is generated from the
catalogue as it stands now, so it changes when the research does. Research
current as at 2026.
