Description
Goldy Evergreen is a small internet station broadcasting from Sangasar, near Dholera on the Gujarat coast, and its name is also its whole brief. What it plays is Hindi and Gujarati music of the kind Indian listeners call evergreen, the older songs that stayed popular long after they stopped being new. Its own stream signs itself simply as an Evergreen Playlist, numbered, running straight through with nothing between the tracks. The station belongs to a tiny outfit the operator calls the Goldy FM network, and it is kept going on listener donations rather than advertising. There is no schedule and nobody on air introducing anything, which is rather the point: you tune in and the old songs are already playing.
