Description
Guadeloupe 1ère is the island's public service radio station, part of the Outre-mer La 1ère network run by France Télévisions, and it serves Saint Barthélemy and Saint Martin as well. It traces back to 1937, when it started as Guadeloupe's first private station, and it has taken a new name at almost every reorganisation of French broadcasting since, becoming Guadeloupe La Première in 2010. The day is built around local news, morning talk and cultural and sports coverage, carried in French and in Guadeloupean Creole, with Caribbean music threaded through the schedule and some strands taken from the wider French public networks. Its studios have sat at Baie-Mahault since 2000, and it goes out on FM across the island as well as on 640 kHz AM.

Material that would have made this page fuller, and was refused. A page with five named presenters looks better than a page with none even when the five are a website theme's demonstration content, and the difference is invisible to a reader. So it is recorded here instead.
