Description Radio Kantipur, on air as Kantipur FM, started in 1998 as Nepal's first private radio station and still bills itself as the most listened-to station in the country, on 96.1 MHz in the east and centre and 101.8 MHz in the west. It is a full-service station rather than a music pipe: six daily Kantipur Diary bulletins, the hard talk show The Headliners, the satirical radio drama No Tension, and The Good Morning Show as a breakfast programme with live music. The music runs wide, from new Nepali pop and older Nepali film songs to Hindi film classics, back-to-back bhajan devotional blocks in the small hours and a Newari music and culture strand called Nepalaya.
