How we checked LOS 40 Principales España
Everything published about this station was read from the station's own website or its own stream, and every fact below names the page it came from and the year it was read. Nothing needed correcting. We also found 4 things we could have published and decided not to.

Description
LOS40 is Spain's best-known chart music station and the country's first themed radio service, running current and recent hits for a young audience. The playlist is mainstream pop with heavy helpings of dance, electropop, electrolatino and reggaeton. Its flagship programme is "Del 40 al 1", the Saturday-morning countdown of the week's top 40 as voted by listeners. The station is owned by Prisa Radio and has spread well beyond Spain into a dozen other countries.

Contact route
The page whose own heading is Contacta is a masthead only: management, digital newsroom, DJs and programmes listed by name and job title, with no email, telephone, WhatsApp or message form anywhere on it, and its single form is a station and province search box. The listener route sits on the programme pages instead. The morning show's page carries a section headed for taking part in that programme, and one of its tiles is a click-to-email link to a programme address on the station's own domain; a competition article linked from the same section sets out a live phone-in in which the two named presenters open the lines at a stated time each morning and listeners call a published freephone number to answer on air.

What we corrected
Nothing. This station's entry matched what its own site says, which is worth recording: a clean check is a result, not an absence of one.
What we found and did not publish
Material that would have made this page fuller, and was refused. A page with five named presenters looks better than a page with none even when the five are a website theme's demonstration content, and the difference is invisible to a reader. So it is recorded here instead.
| What we could have said | Why we did not |
|---|---|
| The programme email address and the phone-in freephone number | Never copying actual emails or numbers into this file.
source |
| The legal notice gives a contact email on a sibling station's domain and the licence company's Madrid street address | The email belongs to a sibling service of the same licence holder rather than to this station, so it is not given as this station's route.
source |
| The programme page's own CMS data block carries address, email, phone and whatsapp fields all set to null, and a journalist's author page offers only a personal Instagram link | Neither is a station route, so neither was counted.
source |
| WhatsApp appears across the site only inside share-this-article links | Sharing a page is not a way to reach a human at the station.

If you think something here is wrong
Tell us which fact and what you found instead. Everything above names its source and its date, so a disagreement can be settled by looking rather than argued. Where another site disagrees with us, it is usually because it is repeating a radio directory, and occasionally because we got it wrong. We would like to know which.
Read from the station's own material; this page is generated from the
catalogue as it stands now, so it changes when the research does. Research
current as at 2026.
