Description
Newstalk is Ireland's national speech station, on air from Dublin since 2002 and part of Bauer Media Audio Ireland. There is essentially no music: the day is built out of news, interviews, current affairs, business, technology, sport and history. In February 2026 it made the biggest schedule change in its history, putting Anton Savage alone in the breakfast chair, handing mid-morning to Claire Byrne and moving Ciara Kelly and Shane Coleman to drivetime, with Pat Kenny taking a new weekend slot the following month. Roughly 855,000 people listen in a week.

What we corrected

Each of these changed a field in our own entry. The reasoning is the researcher's own, recorded when the change was made.

FieldChange Why
language code en
what it said before was not recorded; the reasoning usually states it
Language was blank. Newstalk is Ireland's national English-language speech station, and every show in the current schedule published by its owner, Bauer Media Audio Ireland, is presented in English.

What we found and did not publish

Material that would have made this page fuller, and was refused. A page with five named presenters looks better than a page with none even when the five are a website theme's demonstration content, and the difference is invisible to a reader. So it is recorded here instead.

What we could have said Why we did not
The freephone, switchboard, WhatsApp and shortcode numbers, the mailboxes and the Dublin address; also the advertising mailbox, the parent group's media-queries mailbox, the SMS-competition mailbox at the parent group, and six named staff mailboxes of which two sit at the parent group Never publish numbers, mailboxes or addresses; the advertising, press and parent-group routes are not listener routes, and named individuals' mailboxes are not a station switchboard.

If you think something here is wrong

Tell us which fact and what you found instead. Everything above names its source and its date, so a disagreement can be settled by looking rather than argued. Where another site disagrees with us, it is usually because it is repeating a radio directory, and occasionally because we got it wrong. We would like to know which.

Read from the station's own material; this page is generated from the catalogue as it stands now, so it changes when the research does. Research current as at 2026.
