How we checked ORF Hitradio Ö3
Everything published about this station was read from the station's own website or its own stream, and every fact below names the page it came from and the year it was read. Nothing needed correcting. We also found 1 thing we could have published and decided not to.

Description
Hitradio O3 is the German-language pop and chart network of ORF, Austria's public broadcaster, on air nationally since 1 October 1967 and produced from the Heiligenstadt district of Vienna. Its contemporary-hit-radio format mixes chart pop from the 1980s to the present with hourly news, weather and traffic bulletins, and it compiles the country's official O3 Austria Top 40 chart. With an audience share averaging around 31 per cent it is by far Austria's most-listened radio station.

Contact route
the route belongs to the parent ORF but is this channel's own contact section, and it is the richest in the set: a web message form taking a subject, a message and audio, video or other file attachments, a separate dedicated music-request form taking title, artist, a comment and the show it should air in, an email, in-app messaging through the station's own app, WhatsApp including voice messages for on-air discussion, Facebook Messenger, Instagram, a Telegram bot with keyword subscriptions and a "mitreden" join-the-discussion keyword, a freephone number staffed daily from 07:00 to 19:00, and a postal address

Where
Vienna, Austria; its own "So horst du O3" page states that O3 can be received throughout Austria almost to the last corner via UKW (FM) and DAB+, that about 96 of every 100 listening minutes come that way, and adds radio channels on all satellite and cable operators plus terrestrial SimpliTV where it also occupies a TV slot as "O3-Visual Radio"; the page prints no frequency number

What we corrected
Nothing. This station's entry matched what its own site says, which is worth recording: a clean check is a result, not an absence of one.
What we found and did not publish
Material that would have made this page fuller, and was refused. A page with five named presenters looks better than a page with none even when the five are a website theme's demonstration content, and the difference is invisible to a reader. So it is recorded here instead.
| What we could have said | Why we did not |
|---|---|
| the individual Austrian FM frequencies | none appears anywhere on the station's own site, which describes coverage only as nationwide UKW and DAB+

If you think something here is wrong
Tell us which fact and what you found instead. Everything above names its source and its date, so a disagreement can be settled by looking rather than argued. Where another site disagrees with us, it is usually because it is repeating a radio directory, and occasionally because we got it wrong. We would like to know which.
Read from the station's own material; this page is generated from the
catalogue as it stands now, so it changes when the research does. Research
current as at 2026.
