Description
Radio Bío Bío is Chile's big independent news radio, run out of Concepción and heard from Arica in the far north to Punta Arenas in the deep south on more than forty FM signals. Concepción is the home frequency at 98.1, with Santiago on 99.7 and Valparaíso on 94.5. The sound is talk from end to end: long interviews, hard questioning of ministers and officials, and a steady diet of regional reporting the Santiago stations tend to skip, plus sport, the economy and foreign affairs. Radiograma and Expreso Bío Bío anchor the weekday output, Expreso PM carries the afternoon news, Podría Ser Peor lightens the tone, and the interview and comment slots fronted by Tomás Mosciatti are the house signature. It all runs alongside the group's television and podcast arms, so the radio doubles as one of the busiest news portals in the country.
