One of the grand old names of Argentine radio, on the air from Buenos Aires on 630 kHz since 1928 and talking round the clock. This is a speech station through and through: news bulletins, political interviews, economic analysis, opinion and argument, and a long evening block given over to football and sport. The day starts before dawn with a news wrap, hands over to a morning current-affairs show, and then runs through a chain of named, personality-led programmes until late at night. The line-up is built around well-known Argentine broadcast journalists, each holding a three-hour slot, which gives the schedule the feel of a relay of familiar voices rather than a rolling news format. Weekends soften a little, with arts, health and listener-call shows filling out the grid.
