How we checked Radio Vaticana English
Everything published about this station was read from the station's own website or its own stream, and every fact below names the page it came from and the year it was read. Nothing needed correcting. We also found 2 things we could have published and decided not to.

Description
Radio Vaticana English is the English-language channel of Vatican Radio, made in Vatican City and thrown out to the world on shortwave from the transmitting park at Santa Maria di Galeria outside Rome, with a relay in Madagascar. Its own bulletins are short and frequent: Daily World News comes round four times in a day, with a Vatican and World news slot in the late afternoon. English for Africa is the channel's substantial programme, a half hour made for African listeners and repeated morning, evening and midnight. Around them the channel keeps the Latin liturgy of the hours, Lauds early, Mass after seven, Vespers at five and Compline before midnight, with a little classical music filling the joins. It is a service to dip into for the news from Rome and the sound of the Church at prayer rather than one to leave on all day.

What we corrected
Nothing. This station's entry matched what its own site says, which is worth recording: a clean check is a result, not an absence of one.
What we found and did not publish
Material that would have made this page fuller, and was refused. A page with five named presenters looks better than a page with none even when the five are a website theme's demonstration content, and the difference is invisible to a reader. So it is recorded here instead.
| What we could have said | Why we did not |
|---|---|
| 105 Live, which appears three times in this channel's own grid | the title and the diretta marking show it is the network's Italian live block surfacing in a shared schedule, so it is not English programming and does not belong to this row
source |
| the Rome newsroom telephone numbers, the WhatsApp line and the postal address published for the network's radio service | those are Radio Vaticana Italia's own desks on its own page, and offering them as this channel's contacts would send a listener to the wrong newsroom

If you think something here is wrong
Tell us which fact and what you found instead. Everything above names its source and its date, so a disagreement can be settled by looking rather than argued. Where another site disagrees with us, it is usually because it is repeating a radio directory, and occasionally because we got it wrong. We would like to know which.
Read from the station's own material; this page is generated from the
catalogue as it stands now, so it changes when the research does. Research
current as at 2026.
