Description
Radiomundo is Montevideo's talk station on 1170 AM, the product of two Uruguayan institutions joining forces: CX 32 Radiomundo, on air since 1978, and En Perspectiva, the journalism programme Emiliano Cotelo founded in 1985. The station puts professional, independent reporting at the centre and is unusually open about caring how things are said, not only what is said. The morning belongs to En Perspectiva, a long, conversational block of interviews, editorials and round tables that runs from seven until midday news; afternoons soften into La Conversacion, culture and books, and Se Hace Tarde carries the drive home. Evenings pick up global affairs, football talk and, on Wednesdays, an hour of tango. Music and entertainment are there, but journalism sets the tone.

To be accurate about what I found: radiomundo.uy and enperspectiva.uy serve the same site (radiomundo.uy sets rel=canonical to enperspectiva.uy, and www.radiomundo.uy redirects there), and that site's og:site_name is Radiomundo En Perspectiva, so the stored URL is the station's platform rather than a single programme's own site as suspected. Even so, radiomundo.uy is the station's own name and own domain and is the better homepage for a station page. |
