Description
Sveriges Radio P1 is the Swedish public broadcaster's national spoken-word channel - it subtitles itself "Den talade kanalen", the spoken channel - and is a speech and current-affairs service rather than a music station. Launched on 1 January 1925 as Sweden's first national radio station and given its present format in 1966, it carries news, current affairs, culture, radio drama, debate, science, philosophy and international coverage in Swedish.
