Madurai is in the grip of a gang that kidnaps and kills businessmen who refuse to pay protection money, and the police seem powerless. Assistant Commissioner Jayaseelan is brought in and goes after the gang with brutal efficiency, taking out its members one by one, while romancing a schoolteacher played by Kajal Aggarwal. But as he gets closer to the man running the racket, the case becomes personal in a way that tests his loyalty to his family. Director Suseenthiran, who made Naan Mahaan Alla and Pandiya Naadu, keeps the film grounded in the Madurai setting, with Samuthirakani in a key role and Soori for comic relief. Music is by D. Imman. The title means "pouncing tiger".
