Gumasthan (2024)

Gumasthan ("clerk") is a 2024 Malayalam crime thriller directed by Amal K. Joby. Bibin George, better known for comic and action roles, plays the title figure, an unassuming man whose knowledge and position put him at the centre of a murder investigation, with director-actor Dileesh Pothan and Jaise Jose in key parts. The story unfolds as a twisting inquiry in which loyalties shift and the truth keeps changing shape. It is a modest, plot-driven film in the vein of the investigative thrillers Malayalam cinema has been turning out in recent years, with its interest lying in its puzzle and in seeing Bibin George in a more serious role.
