Sahasa Veerudu Sagara Kanya ("the brave hero and the sea maiden") is a 1996 fantasy adventure from K. Raghavendra Rao, the director known for colourful mythological and folklore spectacles. Venkatesh plays the daring hero, and Shilpa Shetty appears in one of her early South Indian roles alongside Malashri. The story mixes romance with sea-legend fantasy and treasure, giving the director room for elaborate song picturisations and special effects. M. M. Keeravani's music, a regular feature of Raghavendra Rao's films, adds to its appeal as old-fashioned fantasy entertainment for the whole family.
