Shoaib Khan rules the Mumbai underworld from abroad and returns to the city in the 1980s to settle a score with a rival. He takes under his wing Aslam, a sharp young street kid who idolises him. Then Shoaib meets Jasmine, an aspiring actress from Kashmir with dreams of the film industry, and is smitten. What neither man knows at first is that Aslam has fallen for her too, and the triangle threatens to turn mentor and disciple into enemies. Once Upon a Time in Mumbai Dobaara! is the sequel to Milan Luthria's 2010 gangster drama Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai, with Akshay Kumar taking over the role of Shoaib from Emraan Hashmi. Rajat Arora's dialogue is full of punchlines, and Pritam's songs include Tayyab Ali.
