Vedalam (2015)

Ganesh arrives in Kolkata with his sister Tamizh, who has come to study art. He takes a job as a taxi driver and seems the gentlest of men, the comic foil to everyone around him. But when he becomes involved in a police operation against a ruthless trafficking gang, a very different side of him appears, and a flashback reveals who Ganesh really is and why he guards his sister so closely. Vedalam was the second collaboration between Ajith Kumar and director Siva after Veeram and a big Diwali 2015 hit. Anirudh's music, especially the anthem "Aaluma Doluma", became a rage. The film was remade in Telugu as Bholaa Shankar (2023).
