New Delhi (1987)

Vijay is a fearless Delhi journalist whose reports threaten a ring of politicians and businessmen. They answer by framing him, and he comes out of prison crippled and with nothing left. With a few loyal friends he starts a small newspaper and devises a cold plan: each of his enemies will die in a way that his paper reports first, so the headlines seem to arrive before the crimes. This is Joshiy's Hindi version of his own Malayalam blockbuster New Delhi (1987), which starred Mammootty and was written by Dennis Joseph, and it follows the original's tight revenge plot. Jeetendra plays against his song-and-dance image in a brooding, wheelchair-bound role.
