He also falls for Shruti, a fitness instructor plagued by a corrupt police officer. The film's stylish action, punchy dialogue and twists made it a landmark hit, one of the highest-grossing Telugu films of its time and a turning point in Mahesh Babu's career. Mani Sharma's songs were huge. Pokiri was remade in Tamil as Pokkiri with Vijay, in Kannada as Porki and in Hindi as Wanted (2009) with Salman Khan. It is known in Hindi as Tapori Wanted.
