Description

Happy is not going to marry Bagga, the pushy local corporator her father has chosen, because she loves Guddu, a struggling musician. On her wedding night she jumps into a flower truck to elope, but the truck is headed across the border, and she ends up in Lahore at the home of Bilal, a polished former cricketer being groomed for politics by his father. Bilal and his fiancée Zoya reluctantly agree to help Happy reunite with Guddu, while a furious Bagga and Happy's family give chase, and a Pakistani police officer finds himself caught in the middle. Mudassar Aziz's screwball comedy treats India and Pakistan with affection rather than hostility, and Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra steal many scenes. Produced by Aanand L. Rai, it was successful enough to get a sequel, Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi (2018).
