Haseena Parkar is a biographical crime drama about the younger sister of Dawood Ibrahim. Framed around a court case in which she is accused of extortion and links to her brother's network, the film moves back through her life: a girlhood in Mumbai's Dongri, marriage to Ibrahim Parkar, the 1993 blasts that changed how the city saw her family, the loss of people close to her and her growing reputation as a figure of power in Nagpada. Shraddha Kapoor ages from a teenager to a heavy-set woman in her forties, a role that was a departure from her romantic parts. Her real-life brother Siddhanth Kapoor plays Dawood. Director Apoorva Lakhia had earlier made the gangster drama Shootout at Lokhandwala. The film was released in September 2017.
