Ek Phool Char Kante (1960)

Sunil Dutt plays a young man who falls for a lively girl, played by Waheeda Rehman, only to discover that she cannot marry without the blessing of her four uncles, her guardians. Each uncle has his own obsession, and the hero sets about pleasing them one at a time, taking on a different personality for each, which soon becomes a tangle of disguises and near misses. Ek Phool Char Kante, meaning one flower and four thorns, is a breezy comedy that let Sunil Dutt show a lighter side, with tuneful songs by Shankar-Jaikishan and Waheeda Rehman's charm.
