Bhagya Debata (1995)

Bhagya Debata ('god of fortune') is a 1995 Bengali film directed by Raghuram, starring Mithun Chakraborty with Rituparna Sengupta, then a rising heroine of Bengali cinema. Its great curiosity is the presence of Rajinikanth, in what is his only Bengali film, playing a supporting role alongside his friend Mithun. The film follows the pattern of 1990s Bengali commercial cinema, combining family melodrama, songs and action, with Mithun as the righteous hero. The Hindi version is sold as Krantikari.
