12th Man (2022)

A group of college friends, now married and settled, reunite for a bachelor party at a remote hill resort. Someone suggests a game: every call and message received during the evening must be shared aloud. Secrets start to spill, tempers fray, and by morning one of them is dead. Chandrasekhar, a quiet guest who had been drinking alone at the resort, turns out to be a police officer, and he keeps all of them in the building while he peels back their lies one by one. Jeethu Joseph, director of Drishyam, sets almost the whole story in one location and builds it as a talky whodunit, with Mohanlal relaxed and watchful as the twelfth man. The game premise echoes the Italian film Perfect Strangers. It is known in Hindi as Prime Witness.
