In April 1959, Commander Kawas Manekshaw Nanavati, a naval officer, learned that his English wife Sylvia had been having an affair with businessman Prem Ahuja. Within hours Ahuja was dead from gunshot wounds, and Nanavati surrendered to the police. This Hindi web series retells the investigation and the sensational trials that followed, in which the jury's verdict, a newspaper campaign and public sympathy for the officer became as much the story as the crime. The case is famous as one of the trials that led India to move away from jury trials, and it was fought by some of the country's best-known lawyers, including a young Ram Jethmalani, played here by Manav Kaul. The same case inspired the films Achanak (1973) and Rustom (2016).
