Bajrangi Bhaijaan (2015)

Six-year-old Shahida cannot speak. Separated from her mother on the train back from India, she is stranded alone and is found by Pawan, a simple, painfully honest devotee of Hanuman who cannot tell a lie. He takes her in, and when he discovers that she is a Pakistani Muslim, his own family is horrified. With no way through official channels, Pawan decides to walk her across the border and find her parents himself, and in Pakistan he gains an unlikely ally in Chand Nawab, a struggling local TV reporter. Bajrangi Bhaijaan became one of the highest-grossing Indian films ever and was also a big success in China. It won the National Film Award for Best Popular Film Providing Wholesome Entertainment, Harshaali Malhotra's wordless performance was widely loved, and songs such as Selfie Le Le Re and Adnan Sami's qawwali Bhar Do Jholi Meri were huge hits.
