Murugan is a bodybuilder who works as a stuntman and longs to be cast as a screen villain. His life changes when he befriends an elderly man whose valuable property is being targeted by a ruthless land-grabbing gang, aided by the old man's own sons. Taking up the fight, Murugan uses his muscles and his talent for disguise against the gangsters. Rajapattai was directed by Suseenthiran, known for Vennila Kabadi Kuzhu and Naan Mahaan Alla, and is a lighter, commercial outing for Vikram, who appears in several comic get-ups. Veteran Telugu director K. Viswanath plays the old man, with music by Yuvan Shankar Raja.
