Playing now

Read from the recording's own description, by a program — so it is a reading rather than a record.

Description

A side transferred from a 78rpm disc, from a large collection of American popular music of the 1920s and 1930s. The 78 was the only commercial record format of the period: shellac, about three minutes a side, and played with a steel needle that wore the groove a little every time. What survives of the popular music of those two decades survives mostly because somebody kept the discs and somebody else transferred them. The song is "Did I Remember". Track 19. The recording date, the label and the matrix number are not in the file name; they would be on the disc itself.
